Dunedin Student Accommodation. Students looking for and living in flats or studio rooms from February to November.

Student Accommodation

With around 27,000 students attending the University of Otago and the Otago Polytechnic, and with most of these from out of town or overseas, student accommodation is a major part of Dunedin life. The keenest of students start hunting for flats (and more recently studio rooms) from around September of each year. The more laid back wait for the rush time when they return to Dunedin in February.

The traditional run-down, cold, damp student flats are gradually being replaced with modern buildings that come with furnishings and even internet connections. But regardless of the age of the flats, they spring to life from February to November and the streets buzz with students bring life to the city.
